Down syndrome leader Christina Reaves will lead community programs for LuMind IDSC
Following a five-month, national search, LuMind IDSC Down Syndrome Foundation announced the appointment of Christina Reaves as the new Director of Community Programs.
In the newly revised role, Christina will lead key initiatives for the organization, including the digital resource platform myDSC and the popular Family Weekend annual meet-up event.
“In addition to her outstanding track record in program development, Christina brings 20 years of community-based knowledge to our organization. I’m confident her background and skills will elevate LuMind IDSC’s community-facing programs. We are really looking forward to having her join the team and help move our mission forward,” CEO Hampus Hillerstrom said.
Most recently Christina served as the Executive Director of the North Carolina Down Syndrome Alliance. While there she managed the successful merger/acquisition of smaller organizations and oversaw an extensive expansion of programs, initiatives, events, and communications.
Previously, she coordinated programs and events for a community-based nonprofit, and operated crisis support programs for military families. Christina is also deeply committed to Down Syndrome Affiliates in Action, the national association of nonprofit professionals who lead Down syndrome organizations.
Christina lives in North Carolina with her family.
