Nutrition and Physical Activity Considerations for Young Children with Down Syndrome

Healthy eating and physical activity habits are formed during early childhood (ages 0 – 8 years) and can influence later health and development. Families with a young child with Down syndrome often report limited access to nutrition and physical activity information that is tailored to their child’s developmental needs. In this webinar session, join a team of health and science professionals as they discuss evidence-based nutrition and physical activity practices and strategies to help families achieve their goals. Then, they will introduce a novel, family-centered online intervention called HomeGrown, which was designed to support families in helping their child with Down syndrome achieve healthy eating and physical activity goals.
