You can expect training, information, and materials. The LuMind IDSC Director of Community Programs will support you and act as a liaison between the organization and the volunteers. She will also offer resources and troubleshooting.
What if something comes up and I need to step back or take a break?
At LuMind IDSC we absolutely realize that life happens and circumstances change. We only ask is that you communicate that you need to step down as soon as possible to ensure that we can find someone to step in.
If I volunteer will I have time to spend with my family at the Water park?
As the site coordinator you will have multiple duties throughout the weekend, but you will have plenty of time to spend with your family and friends.
Will I have to use my personal money?
No. LuMind IDSC has policy and procedures to handle site purchases and to account for any funds received at the local level. Volunteer coordinators will be expected to adhere to official processes and submit paperwork as needed.
What happens to funds raised for the event?
All funds raised for the 2025 Family Weekend will be collected and distributed equally among all of the locations. This will ensure that every family will have the same Family Weekend experience no matter which location they may choose.
