As a Program Analyst for the Naval Marine Mammal Program, Michelle implemented a “paperless office” by helping to create digital tools for the organization.

She also worked for the Space and Naval Warfare Command where she was part of the team that piloted, launched, and trained the Defense Travel System. Michelle also served as the software testing logistics coordinator during a conversion to a new Navy/Marine network infrastructure. In that same position, she spent time as a software tech writer.

As a parent of a child with Down syndrome, Michelle is committed to providing support for other families with a loved one with Down syndrome. She is motivated by knowing that although our journeys may not all be the same, there is power in knowing that someone else understands the path you are walking on.

In 2008, Michelle started a photography business. Realizing that families often didn’t have great photos of their loved ones with special needs, she decided to specialize in photographing individuals with special needs. Her work has been published several times.
