Over the past year, LuMind IDSC continued to make progress on our initiatives in research, policy advocacy, and connecting with the Down syndrome community.  Our continued success throughout 2024 has been made possible because of the support of the Down syndrome community. We are so grateful for your support!

Highlights of this past year include:

  • The Longitudinal Investigation for the Enhancement of Down Syndrome Research (LIFE-DSR) became the 2nd largest natural history study of adults with Down syndrome in the U.S. with over 10,000 data points collected.
  • Two custom videos were filmed/created to explain brain imaging procedures to people with Down syndrome and their families. The “What to Expect” video series launched and follow a young man with Down syndrome through each step of getting an MRI and a PET.
  • Family Weekend returned after a year hiatus. The event, held at 20 Great Wolf Lodge waterparks across North America, welcomed 4000 attendees – children and adults with Down syndrome and their families and friends. Family weekend is the largest event of its kind!
